how to photoshoot with mobile ?

I'd probably go like like six hundred percent on the zoom and then just do like very pixel by pixel making it really really sharp but anyways now that we've done that we can zoom back out to look at the full image and go fifty percent and as you guys can see there we've selected that now before we duplicate it let's do the same thing or this background and double click on this lock icon so once we do that a we can basically lay in the layer two whatever we want so let's name it McLaren and then once we've named it MacLaren's press Enter or click OK and then as you guys can see there we've got the image unlocked and the next thing to do is to make sure that you selected on that on that layer and then we're gonna go control-c or command-c matters if you're on Mac or PC it doesn't really matter but yeah so just ctrl C and then control V so once we've done that as you guys can see now we have two layers and if we hide this layer we can hide layers by clicking on this little eye icon which indicates layer visibility as it says there so we click on that as you guys can see we have just an outline of the McLaren itself and then the background is just transparent as I guess totally as I told you guys before um this checker sort of thing is indicates that the background is transparent so let's just bring the background back and now as you guys can see we have this McLaren here so we can click in using the move tool that I showed you guys earlier we can click and drag and move it to where wherever we want on this project let's say we want this McLaren facing this McLaren so sort of switching the the direction it's going so we can go ctrl T which is short for transform the shortcut and we can go to height and just add a little minus symbol or Nova that makes it upside-down let's let's do it on the with actually so let's go minus a hundred percent it's it's still maintaining the same dimensions however it's negative on the width making it on the going to other direction so we can also do that by clicking and dragging like that but the easiest way to maintain the proportions is to just do it like that so once we choose a spot where we want that Maclaren we can press ok or we can even do the rotation like I showed you guys earlier and that looks pretty cool just to little McLaren's facing each other off so what are we gonna do now we can do some effects let's say like a drop shadow and that looks alright let's make it a little bigger we can do outer glow that looks cool and then we can increase the size as yes and see that looks pretty cool so yeah I just showed you guys everything else that you know it's quite straightforward for the effect but now we're actually gonna do is to actually make a adjustment layer and basically we're gonna mess around with the color correction the exposure everything to make this image look as nice as possible so the way we're gonna do this is we're gonna go to layer and then new or sorry no we're gonna go to layer new adjustment layer and then the first thing we're going to do is to add a brightness / contrast layer so we're just gonna click OK you can name that whatever you want you can even color code it just like I showed you guys earlier too for it you know for a better organization but we're just gonna leave that alone for now so as you guys can see this is the first adjustment layer now adjustment layers basically are just like editing layers they're not visible they're not necessarily like solid items but or objects in the scene or in the and you know in the project and the oh and all the elements but they're basically just to just the the visual aspect of this project so we're gonna go to contrast we're actually gonna increase the contrast as you guess and see if we decrease the contrast it it looks a lot more like washed up or if we increase it it looks a lot more like like vivid so we're gonna make it let's say looks good yeah that looks pretty good and then we can increase the brightness a little decrease it that looks pretty nice if we decrease the brightness a bit there too much brightness doesn't look very good in my opinion let's go actually - I thought I'd actually go more brightness but a little lower brightness looks a lot better so now that looks that's how it looked before the first adjustment layer and then after that's how it looks so it you know but as you guys can see it already looks pretty cool just like that so we're gonna add another adjustment layer by going layer new adjustment layer and then we're gonna go to levels now we're just click OK just like everything else and then levels we can there's a lot of presets so you can mess with that yourself here but we're gonna actually select their preset on the level so you can click darker whoo that looks really cool and then there's increased contrast and you know so this is basically like a easy way to make your project look a certain way so let's just me let's just select let's see and let's see increased contrast that's a little too much contrast one darker that's a little too dark mid-tones brighter mid-tones darker I think that looks pretty damn cool and now since it's quite dark we can actually go back to this and double click on that icon and increase the brightness a bit because it is quite dark all right that looks pretty cool now so next thing we're gonna add is actually a let's see a layer and the new adjustment layer we can add a let's see exposure and then once we add exposure you can mess around with that we're actually gonna decrease the exposure a bit and then the offset you can mess around with that and then we're actually gonna increase that a bit just to bring out the color that dark color is a bit and then the gamma correction you can mess around with that as well that is starting to look really cool so that is how the project are like it's initially looked and then after all these correct correction layers this is how it's looking right now so let's add one more just for the sake of you know showing you guys how all this works it's all the same you know it's all the same concept you just have to tweak it and then play with all these settings everything just to get the perf look of the project that he want so let's go to layer new adjustment layer and then let's add a let's see color lookup now color lookups are are basically like a correction color layer and and these are quite tricky to work with because you can you can you can basically load up files that are called LUT files and I might actually do that later in like different tutorials and show you guys how to make those LUT different color um color correction files so for now we're gonna go with something that is default that it looks pretty cool so we're gonna go in let's see turquoise sepia but as you guys can see these are basically like filters um that make your project look a certain way let's see that looks cool so if we're happy with that we can just leave that on yeah so that's basically like the UM you know all the adjustment layers alright so let's say it wanted to add some text now to this project it's actually really straightforward in Photoshop there's this icon with a T on it one of the tools and that actually allows us to add text so let's actually select that and then anywhere on the project that we want to act actually I add the text box or the text itself we can just click so let's say what we wanted to add a title here at the top so we can just click there and type something so I'm just gonna say example since this is a tutorial so as you can see we just typed a text there but um it's not visible because it's like half cut off because you know it's not positioned correctly so if we just move like anywhere out of the actual text box itself we can still see the the move position before we click the check mark for the transform tool so there as you can as you can see it says example but it actually is quite big this text so let's make it a bit smaller let's go to let's say you can change the the the font and everything from here let's say we wanted to change the font so it's about some select something else and that one that's not a really nice font there we go that's a pretty good font and then um we also need to tone down the the actual the the font size so here we there's like a drop-down menu that only goes to point but that's obviously way too small so we can input our own number here to make the text a lot bigger so let's say I'm yeah that's good so that's our example text as you can see there so that looks pretty cool and then we can also mess around with some of the settings for the actual text itself like effects so we can go to FX and then blending options and then from here we can go to let's say overlay blend mode and then blend mode is basically what it does it's like there's different blend modes that do different things like difference is basically like it it does opposite colors and then you can do exclusion which is essentially does the same thing darken that that it doesn't really work there but you you can basically just mess around with that and different different settings different backgrounds there's different effects that work better than others so for this one we're actually gonna go difference that actually looks really cool and then if we just move around you guys can see it kinda does like an x-ray sort of filter on the background itself on what it's um you know on what it's on so that looks really cool you can still see the clouds and everything in the actual background it's basically just the like polar opposite of what the colors are so yeah that's it's really simple to add text and photoshop you can also do other effects like drop shadow or everything else that we learned in the effects panel okay so now let's say I wanted to erase a part of the McLaren so we can actually use the eraser tool which is also very straightforward to use so there's this little tool like this little eraser icon that we can select here once we selected that we're gonna go up to here and actually select the size so let's go a hundred around
pixels and then we're gonna actually decrease if you have a hardness on like percent by default just decrease it down to let's say we're just gonna go to % for now actually and then I'll show you guys the different when you actually increased the hardness of the eraser so now we're gonna select the the duplicated Maclaren layer and then we're gonna start erasing so as you guys can see you can erase parts of the of this layer using this simple eraser tool and now let's say we go step backward and then we go to the hardness and we increase it's a hundred percent just to show you guys the complete opposite so let's select the Maclaren layer again and then we can actually just erase it directly and as you guys can see it's a lot different it's a lot like crisper and then I can show you guys a side-by-side by decreasing the hardness and then going back and as you guys can see here it's a lot softer like the way it's it erases them they're just crisp it's a crisp line so that's essentially the difference between you know and then you can also select a different like brushes for the eraser so that's like sort of like a a nice little um a pen sort of brush or like a a paint brush sort of not a pen a paint brush sort of style to the eraser so you can do lots of cool Styles with that actually but um let's for now let's just go control Z first step backward step backward and just go back to where it was so um yeah that's basically the eraser tool and I wanted to show you guys one more thing before I end this first essentials sort of like basics tutorial is I'm gonna show you guys the pen tool now the pen tool is something that is sort of like how you make logos how you make like objects how you make the shapes and stuff on in in Photoshop and this is a very essential tool that you must learn so let's go let's make another new project a blank project so let's go by or we can actually just go back to this one I actually forget that so let's just delete that and then we have a back the white background here oh we don't really have to delete it we can just click on the visibility icon and just hide it so let's make a shape so let's say we want it to make a a a letter Z so we can start by selecting a point here and then let's say we wanted to make a another point here so letters that look something like that right but that that's not necessarily straight so we go controller fault see for step backward and then we can we can keep this Anchor Point here however when we select the second point we can hold shift down which basically makes it straight see as you guys can see this a perfect straight line now to do diagonally we can also do this shift tool you use the shift tool then if you want to move this we can select control and then shift or it sorry not shift just control and then and then now once you've dragged it to where you want we can click shift and as you guys can see there it's straight so let's put it right there that looks good and then we can also select the third point by clicking shift and right there so now we're gonna actually make it like three-dimensional and there we go you can press control to edit that one point and then let's bring it up to here click shift to make it straight and then add another point by clicking shift and make it straight of force and then finishing this object once you once you're finished and then you want to like close the object you guys can see that little circle icon bus besides lay beside like the pen tool and then once you click that it basically makes it a shape and then you know we can right-click create a let's let's define a custom shape actually and let's name it Z so and then we can click enter and so let's actually go to this rectangle icon and then select custom shape tool and then from here there's a little drop-down menu we can select all the custom shapes that we have and the most recent ones are on the bottom so your icon that you probably just made is on the bottom and we can click anywhere on the screen and then have this is like the default width and height I guess so make sure you're always on preserve proportions if you want to look exactly how you made it and then you you can adjust the height and width but I'm just gonna leave it like that for now so this is the shape that we have and as you guys can see you can't really see it it's probably because it's white so we're gonna go to the effects and then we're gonna go to color overlay and then yeah we can change the color to whatever you want let's just make it black I guess cuz you know it's white in the background it's easy to see and then we can we can do everything else like that I taught you guys like outer glow let's make it I don't know red and size spread let's actually just make the background transparent so yeah as you guys can see there that's the outer glow right there so yeah that's that's basically all I wanted to show you guys in this essentials tutorial I feel as though it covered everything that is that is very essential to learn when you first start using Photoshop from the interface to the you know the essential tools that you must learn and from there it's not very hard like everything else is really straightforward just like this it's basically just more detailed has more features you know there's more features to cover for sure and that's definitely why I want to continue this series and yeah that's gonna be it for this video I hope you guys enjoyed this essentials tutorial for Photoshop and yeah I'll definitely be continuing this and stay tuned and I How to shoot the camera in night ?

how it was before we did anything any of the edits or another way you guys can do that let's say you you scaled it you did a bunch of stuff to the object but you didn't you want to just revert it to how it was before um before you went to touch control T you guys can just click this sort of like undo icon I guess and as you guys can see it kind of revert sit to what we did before the transform options so now what we're actually going to do is yeah as you guys can see you guys can scale it visually as I said or you can actually do it here so let's say we want it twice as big as it is now so we can go % by % so it's basically two times bigger than it was and then once we are happy with what we do the edits we did we can just click this check arrow and then there are the check icon and then basically we've just applied all the changes we did to this object all right so now we're gonna actually now that's basically like the very basics of the interface and now we're actually gonna add some effects to this box like a drop shadow maybe an outer glow or something like that and this is actually very simple to do so we're just gonna navigate down to oh yeah make sure you're selected on the certain layer so if we selected on this it kind of shows like these little square icons where you can obviously do the changes and then you can do all the stuff that we learned so I'm just gonna revert back to how it was but make sure you're selected on the rectangle on top and this is all very important to actually know like the it's kind of like a hierarchy so it let's say we wanted to have this background on top of this where we wouldn't be able to see this we'd basically just have to drag that on top so any any layer that is on top is is shown on top of it so it's basically like a layering system it's very straightforward so yeah always make sure that the smaller layers this backgrounds are always on the bottom of everything but that's basically the way you want to think about it so yeah make sure this layer is on top of the background and then let's say we want to add like I said effects so we click on the rectangle and go down to this effect icon click on that and then go blending options so now this is where we have a bunch of options where we can mess around with so the first thing I'd like to do is to drop shadow so have a little shadow on behind this box so we go down to this option and click on drop shadow so as you guys can see um we have a little shadow behind this box but we can make it more dress like make it bigger so we can increase we can like make it bigger by increasing the size and then the spread the spread essentially makes it more like condensed I want to say but I'm not sure if that's the right word to use but um so basically yeah we can increase it using the spread and size size just makes make it makes the shadow spread a bit more so let's make this size a bit smaller so as you guys can see we have a little shadow behind and that looks pretty nice and what else can we do um for the effects we can add a stroke and the stroke is basically like a little outline that goes around any jects so the stroke we can change the color let's make it red for example and then we can press ok and we can also increase the size of the stroke by going by clicking dragging or so like in putting your own number so let's say we want it pixels and as you guys can see that's the pixel stroke that we have around this rectangle now and what else can we do we can do a bevel and emboss as you guys can see it adds like a little nice d sort of embossed bevel sort of effect and we can increase the depth and by doing so it gives that illusion even more and then we can obviously increase the size and that and that doesn't look very good let's make it yeah that looks good alright umm what else can we do we can also add a pattern overlay and then you can mess with this add your own patterns and stuff but these are the default patterns that come with Photoshop so this is a nice little texture sort of thing that's that's a cool texture but we can't really see it since the background is like white so yeah those are basically like textures you can add so we're not gonna really add anything for now I'm just gonna keep it like that or actually let's just add bat texture like that looks pretty cool and what else can we do we can do an outer glow so outer glow is basically let's add a different let's make it red so it'll go nicely with the D border so or the stroke so the outer glow is essentially just just like a drop shadow sort of thing it it's very similar to the shadow but it's it basically is just like a little glow of a certain color that you can choose that basically outlines around the object you can also do inner glow that that basically does the same effect but towards the inside of the object and instead of it having it on the outside of it so we can also do color overlay this is where we can if it's not a shape and we can't edit the fill we can actually do it here manually so we can go to color overlay and and then we can change the color do it to whatever color we want choose whatever color we want and yeah we're not gonna do that now so we're gonna just uncheck that satin basically just makes it a little darker but that can be cool effect and also yes inner glow inner shadow the shadow is based inner shadows basically like a drop shadow but it makes it like in the inside of it same as inner glow in comparison to outer glow so the same sort of idea and a gradient overlay this is a this is a cool feature that we can take a look at so gradient overlays essentially it kind of mixes colors into instead of having one solid color so as you guys can see this is a mixture of like a black sand gray /white ish color and there's a couple presets which we can choose is like a rainbow and this there's like striped black there's like there's cool colors so these are only the presets but you guys can edit them so let's say we wanted that and then we can edit it so we can change the colors here so we can actually select that and then we can select different colors so let's say we want in the middle color like green we can have it red and yeah so you can edit it to whatever you basically want so there um let's say we're happy with that and then that's the gradient overlay so it's basically like a mixture of colors that's a best way to think about it I guess so um yeah let's just keep it with that texture and so yeah those are basically like the effects the central effects they're so easy to you know to use and it's very simple and to add everything and drop shadow all the strokes everything um they're very simple yet they're used in like you know and in quite complex graphics I always use them these are very basic and they work really well so they're awesome so now we're actually gonna import eight an image from the internet that I downloaded and edit that so the way we're gonna do this is actually gonna go to file and then we're gonna go to place so there's two ways we can do this we can go to file place and then find the image that we downloaded so we're this is an image of the McLaren p or let's say we undid that and then we can go to file open and then we can open that and then that actually opens it to the exact dimensions of the image itself and that's the way best way to do it if you want to edit a certain image instead of doing it instead of placing it inside a project but let's say you have a project where you want to mix pictures in and add different pictures you can go to file place and then find the image and then put it in but um yeah so we're gonna basically do some edits to this to this image so the first thing we're gonna do is actually duplicate this McLaren p so we're gonna go to this tool right here which is called the lasso tool and as you guys can see down here we have a little um this thing that says % is basically the how much it's zoomed to the original size so let's go a hundred percent so that just this just means that we are looking at the exact resolution of this image and the reason why we go % when editing the full project is that is so we can see the full project because if you go over % we'd have to scroll around to be able to see everything but for this for the lasso tool it's very important to see every little detail so we're gonna go % and if you guys have a smaller image that you want to edit then you'd want you you'd want to go even bigger but essentially for this we're just gonna go % and once we were zoomed in we're just gonna have a nice shot of the McLaren so basically just zoom in to a point where the biggest part of the image is the the focus where you want to duplicate so now we're just gonna outline this this McLaren p having selected this lasso tool so we're gonna outline it starting from here and we're gonna do a bit of a sloppy job here it's not very important to be very precise but all you got to do is just click and drag with your left left mouse button tool and just select all the outer part of the image that you so yeah I'll leave this image in the description down below that you guys can edit the same exact thing that I'm doing but if you guys wanted to do a different image just find one on the Internet anything really uh it doesn't really have to be carved but for this tutorial is simple on a car this this image is actually very good for like the duplicating and everything and that we're going to do so I'm just selecting it with this lasso tool doesn't really have to be very precise if I was gonna do this very precise auto likes auto like

How to Make a photoshoot on Background camera ?

what is up guys this is mr. ninja boy and today I'm gonna start a new series guiding you guys through Photoshop starting from the very basics and essential to eventually getting into the more advanced stuff in graphic design my goal here is to maintain simplicity in this series and to make it possible for literally anyone to learn to use Photoshop even if you've just started and are already confused just looking at the interface don't worry I can understand it may be daunting the first time you open Photoshop with all these options in fact it can be intimidating at first starting with any new program but my goal here is to show you guys how simple yet powerful Photoshop really is the sky is truly the limit with what you can do with it if you guys don't know this channel isn't only focused on gaming in fact I've started it with tutorials on game development by the way you can check that on on the channel if you want to but I've always really enjoyed teaching you guys my tips and tricks and passing on my knowledge I got in certain programs to newcomers and the people looking to improve so I'm quite excited to start the series later on we're gonna be doing some really exciting stuff like making thumbnails making logos complex graphic art and much more but in this first tutorial we're just going to focus on the very basics of Photoshop this is the perfect guide for someone who has just begun using Photoshop so like any program the best way to familiarize yourself to it at first would be would be to get a hang of the interface and all its features so we're gonna do just that then as we dive deeper into this tutorial I'm gonna show you guys a collection of simple yet essential features that you must learn while first starting all right so let's get started alright so let's get started with learning the interface now um to make sure that we're all on the same page with the interface itself with all its features all the windows everything let's go to window and then workspace and then make sure you're checked on essentials default which is basically gonna ensure that we have all the same features and everything alright so now let's proceed to make our first file our first project you can call it so let's go to new our file and then new and then this is basically the window where we're gonna do all the settings for a project so first of all we can name the project whatever we want I'm just gonna name an example for the tutorials sake and then for the width and height you can later on you can do whatever you want mattering on what what sort of project you want let's say you want to do like a Twitter header or something and then there's certain like dimensions you want to do then you choose that but for now we're gonna do it a standard by dimension for this project and then make sure you're always selected on pixels okay this is important um so for the width and height you want to be on both on the same units essentially but we're gonna be working with pixels because it's the easiest I mean I don't really work with the centimeters or millimeters inches on the computer it just doesn't make sense for me but I mean I guess it matters on what you're doing but for me pixels refer now we're just we're gonna work with pixels for both width and height um and yeah I was gonna say for me it's just the easiest because you know everything is in pixels on the computer so yeah so the just select everything here it doesn't really matter if you what you do for the bit-depth I'm just gonna go -bit and yeah buts that's pretty much it so let's press Continue or okay and then we continue to this screen which gives us the by default we're just gonna have a blank white square so this is as you guys can see um right here to the right this is basically like the layers tab this this shows us all the layers all the elements everything that is included in the project so all we have now this is basically like a very blank project with all we have is this background um white box sort of thing so um to first get started and we're just gonna unlock this layer because by default when you make a new project the first layer is locked so we don't really have a lot of freedom to do like move it around and stuff so what we're gonna do is actually double click on this locked icon or this lock icon and then when we do that as you guys can see we have this like layer option so let's name it background so let's name it background and then we can keep the color we can do it none and then they'll basically be default color or we can choose whatever you want and that'll essentially just make the color of the not essentially the box but that that's like the color here let me do that and let's let's select a color this is this is actually very good for organizing and then we're gonna go over that later so lets us can see the red color that we selected is sort of kind of like marks it with that little red color so later on while you're working you can always assign layers different colors and with that you can kind of organize your project but that's not very important for now we're just gonna learn the interface for now so as you guys can see we have a white background here so the first thing we're actually gonna do is learn the move tool so the first tool that we are actually offered in this column to the left is this move tool so we're gonna select make sure that you go to the right in this layers tab and select our only one and only layer in this project and then we're gonna select the move tool and then we can as you guys can see we can move the box around and what you've seen this background if you see this like sort of checkered background that basically means it's it's transparent because if you if you render out this picture right now it's basically gonna be transparent so all you'd see is this box and then nothing else this background is transparent um so what we're gonna actually do is undo that so you can undo move and then let's say you do a couple actions the best way to undo stuff is to actually go ctrl alt Z because that is the ultimately like you can only undo once see as you guys can see I i undid all the way back to creating the background so let's actually read step forward so if I do ctrl Z um I hold on step forward and that's let's uh let's add like just just for the tutorials sake let's just do like scribbles something like that so let's say I did ctrl Z once and then I did it again as you guys can see it just redid that so the way we go step backwards if you want to keep on undoing more than once is ctrl alt Z or we can go edit and then step backward that's a very important tool you guys must know in the future anyways so now let's add a shape to this project as you guys can see that is like we learned like to use the Move tool which is you know it's it's it's quite straightforward and then what we're gonna we're gonna learn to do more stuff like a rotating so the of indicating that we're selected on it so if we deselect that as you guys can see we can't really see the rectangle so we're gonna we're gonna assign a color to it or a fill color so we're just gonna go to the fill option as you guys can see up here select that and we can choose any color for the rectangle since the background is white anything that isn't white is it's gonna show so let's just make this like a dark grey color I guess that works so now if you want to move the rectangle in the middle of course we can do that by just clicking dragging and if you guys want to move any object in a sort of linear fashion where you don't really if you want it just like a sign like a certain let's say we want to move it like horizontally so we can just like put it there and then if you just hold down shift and then move it it sort of locks to the position where it was if let's say we're moving horizontally now we can't move it left and right we can just move it horizontally because it's locked and then let's say we want to move it left and right there so it that's how that's the way you and then let's say we let go shift as you guys can see it just it does that so we can also do that of course so that's the way you guys you guys can move things linearly where it kind of just locks on to the axis it's on so now let's say we wanted to rotate this rectangle we can go ctrl T and that is basically just our basically the the shortcut for the transform and let's say we wanted to rotate this rectangle we can we can guide our mouse to the sort of corner of the box where we kind of see this little arrow pointing downward and then to the left and once we see that we can click and drag to how we want to rotate this so let's say we want to rotate it like that or like that and you can all you if you guys also can see like this angle sort of thing up here we can do that numerically we can we don't necessarily need to do it visually here but we can also input numbers and do whatever 70 tips about how to run your System....

Windows 7 is much better than the latest version of Windows Vista and it comes with a lot of new features. Unfortunately, some of them aren’t so easy to figure out, so I created a list of the most important tips and tricks and a step-by-step guide that will help you apply all of these great tips and tricks.

1. PC Safeguard

I rarely let anyone use my PC because I’m afraid he will mess it up, but it seems Microsoft has been thinking at me and came with a solution. The PC Safeguard doesn’t let anyone mess your PC settings, because after the user logs off, the configurations are reset back to normal. Of course it will not restore the configurations changed by you, but only the ones done by other users you define.
To use PC Safeguard, go to Control Panel -> User Accounts and create a new account, then select “Set Up Pc Safeguard” and switch it on. Then you can stay relaxed when others use your computer, because you won’t find anything changed, including configurations, downloaded software, installed programs.

2. Screen Calibration

Fortunately, Windows 7 comes with a display calibration wizard that lets you set up the screen brightness properly, so you won’t have any problems viewing photos or text. The problem was that on one PC a photo could look sharp and bright and on another it looks awful. Now the problem can be fixed by pressing the Windows logo key and then typing “DCCW”.

3. AppLocker

If you are usually sharing your computer with someone else, then you might want to restrict their access to your applications, files or documents. Using the Windows 7 AppLocker tool, you have a few options to do this by blocking other users to access Executables, Windows Installers, Scripts, a specific publisher or path.
You can simply do this by pressing the Windows key then typing Gpedit.msc. Then go to Computer Configuration -> Windows Settings -> Security Settings -> Application Control Policies -> AppLocker. Right click on one of the options (Executables, Installers, or Script) and create a new rule. That should save you from a lot of headaches.

4. Burn Images

We all had trouble with image burning in Windows, because it couldn’t do it itself, a standalone software being needed. With Windows 7 this will not be a problem anymore. All you have to do is double-click the ISO image and burn it on the CD or DVD that’s inserted in the drive.

5. Display Empty Removable Drives

Windows 7 will not show empty drives by default, so if you connect an empty drive to your PC, don’t worry, just go to Tools -> Folder Options -> View and uncheck “Hide empty drives in the computer folder”. This doesn’t seem like a good idea and it should not be default setting, because it will be hard for inexperienced users to figure it out. I bet a lot of users will return their newly bought drive thinking it’s broken.

6. Dock The Current Windows To The Left Side Of The Screen

This new feature seems useful because sometimes it’s disturbing that windows seems to float like crazy on the screen and it’s hard to attach them to one side of it. Now this can easily be done using a keyboard shortcut. Press the Windows key + Left key (arrow) to dock it to the left side of the screen.

7. Display Or Hide The Explorer Preview Panel

Press ALT + P to hide it then once again to display it.
8. Display Gadgets On Top Of Other Windows

9. Background Photo Slideshow

If you are like me, lazy and bored, then you will want to change the background from time to time, wasting a lot of time. Now you don’t have to do this anymore, because you can set up a slideshow.
Right click on the desktop then go to Personalize -> Desktop Background and hold the CTRL key while choosing the images. Then you can choose the time intervals between images and opt to display them randomly or in a row.

10. Make The Taskbar Smaller

If you feel like the taskbar is using too much of your screen space, you can choose to make the icons smaller. To do this, right-click on the Start button, then go to Properties -> Taskbar and set it to “Use small icons”

11. Combine Taskbar Icons

When you have more windows or applications opened, the taskbar’s space might not be enough for them all, so you need to combine them, just like you would in Windows XP or Vista. To do this, right-click the Start button, then go to Properties -> Taskbar and check “Combine when taskbar is full”.

12. Multi-threaded File Copy

If you are a more advanced user, you’ve heard already about Robocopy. Now it’s included in Windows 7 and lets you perform multi-threaded copies from the command line. You can choose the number of threads like this “/MT[:n], which can be from 1 to 128.

13. Maximize Or Restore The Foreground Window

Press Windows Key + Up Key.
14. Minimize The Active Window

Press Windows Key + Down Key

15. Activate The Quick Launch Toolbar

The Quick Launch Toolbar in Windows XP and in Vista seems a very good idea that you might miss when using Windows 7. Fortunately though, you can get it back in a quick few steps.
Right click the taskbar, go to Toolbar -> New Toolbar and type “%UserProfile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch” into the folder box, then click Select Folder.
To make it look like it would in Windows Vista, right click the taskbar, uncheck “Lock the Taskbar”, then right click the divider and uncheck “Show Title” and “Show Text”. Then right click the taskbar and check “Show Small Icons” and you should be done.

16. Preview Photos In Windows Explorer

While in Windows Explorer, Press ALT + P and a preview should appear on the right.

17. Desktop Magnifier

Press the Windows Key and the Plus Key to zoom in or Windows Key and the Minus Key to zoom out. You can zoom anywhere on the desktop and you can even configure your magnifier. You can choose to invert colors, follow the mouse pointer, follow the keyboard focus, or the text insertion point.

18. Minimize Everything Except The Current Window

Press the Windows Key + Home Key.

19. TroubleShoot Power Management

Windows 7 can tell you how much power your system uses or provide detailed information about the power usage and issues caused by each application and device. This way you can optimize the way your battery is used, making It last longer.
Press the Windows Key and type “POWERCFG –ENERGY –OUTPUT <path\filename>”, and it will create a file called energy-report.html in the folder specified by you, after observing your PC for 60 seconds.

20. Web Searches From Your Desktop

Windows 7 lets you search for online resources, by adding a connector that be downloaded for free.
For instance, go to http://www.istartedsomething.com/flickrsearch/ and download the Flickr connector. After that, you should see the Flickr Search in your searches folder and you will be able to do it directly from your desktop, without needing to visit their website.

21. Add Videos To Your Start Menu

If you were looking for a faster way to access your videos, then Windows 7 has the right answer for you.
Right click the Start button, then go to Properties -> Start Menu -> Customize and set the Videos to “Display as a link” and you’re done, you will now find them in the Start Menu.

22. Shift The Window From One Monitor To Another

If you are using two or more monitors, then you might want to move the Windows from one to another. There is a very simple way to do it.
All you have to do is press the Windows Key + Shift Key + Left or Right Key, depending on what monitor you want to move it to.

23. Custom Power Button

There is an option to replace the “Shut Down” button with another action, if you rarely shut down the computer, but you more often restart it or put it on sleep.
Right click the Start Button, go to Properties and choose the ‘Power Boot Action” to do whatever you want, from the given options.

24. Easily Add A New Font

Adding a new font it’s now easier than ever. Just download the font you want, double click it and you should see the install button.

25. Stretch The Window Vertically

You can stretch the active window vertically to the maximum display height by pressing the Windows + Shift + Up (arrow) keys. Press Windows + Down Keys if you want to restore it.

26. Open Windows Explorer

Press the Windows logo key + E to open a new instance of Windows Explorer.

27. Create A New Instance Of The First Icon In The Taskbar

Press Windows + 1 Keys to open a new instance of the first icon in the taskbar. This could prove really useful in some circumstances.

28. Windows Action Center

Windows Action Center offers you important information about your PC, like the Antivirus Status, updates, troubleshooting and provides a backup scheduling feature.

To access it, go to Control Panel -> System And Security -> Action Center.

29. Windows Troubleshooting Platform

This platform can help you solve a lot of issues you may encounter, like the internet connection, hardware devices, poor system performance and more. You can choose what to troubleshoot and it will come with some possible explanations for the problem that might really help you.
There are a lot of options, guidance and information available there, so give it a try by typing “troubleshoot” or “fix” after pressing the Windows Key.

30. Turn Off System Notifications

System notifications are usually disturbing and aren’t always useful, so you might want to turn some of them off and.
This can be done in Windows 7 by double clicking the Notification Area Icons in Control panel. There you can change notifications and icons for the Action Center, Network, Volume, Windows Explorer, Media Center Tray Applet, Windows Update Automatic Updates.

31. Turn Off Security Messages

To turn off security messages you have to go to Control Panel -> System and Security -> Action Center -> Change Action Center Settings and you can turn off the following notifications: Windows Update, Internet Security Settings, Network Firewall, Spyware and related protection, User Account Control, Virus Protection, Windows Backup, Windows Troubleshooting, Check for updates.

32. Cycle Through The Open Programs Via The Taskbar’s Peek Menu

This works just like Alt + Tab, but opens the menu just above the sidebar, doesn’t seem very useful. Give it a try by pressing The Windows Key + T.

33. Run A Program As An Administrator

You can easily run a program as an administrator by pressing Ctrl + Shift while opening it.

34. Same Program Windows Switching

If you have more instances of a program running, simply hold Ctrl while clicking on its icon and it will cycle through all the instances.

35. Auto Arrange Desktop Icons

You can now forget about the Right Click -> Auto arrange. All you have to do is hold F5 pressed for a bit and the icons will auto arrange.

36. Encrypt Removable USB Drives

Encrypting an USB drive has never been easier. Now you can right click on the removable drive and then on the “Turn on Bitlocker”.

37. Turn Off Smart Window Arrangement

If you don’t like Windows 7’s new features that arrange your windows intelligently, there’s an easy way to turn it off.
Press the Windows Logo Key, type “regedit”, go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop and set WindowArrangementActive to 0. After you reboot your system the smart arrangements will be turned off.

38. Create A System Repair Disc

Windows 7 features a tool that lets you create a bootable System Repair Disc that includes some system tools and the command prompt. To create it, press the Windows Key and type “system repair disc”.

39. Hard-Link Migration Store

The Hard-Link Migration store is only available for new computers and can migrate files, settings, and user accounts. The new Hard-Link Migration Store uses more less disk space and takes less time.

40. Turn Off ‘Send Feedback’

If for some reason, you’re still using the Beta version of Windows 7 and if you feel disturbed by “Send Feedback button”, there is a way to turn it off. Press the Windows Key and type ‘regedit’, then go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop and set FeedbackToolEnabled to 0. After you restart the computer, it shouldn’t be there anymore. Also, if you want to turn it on again, set the FeedbackToolEnabled to 3.

41. Improved Calculator

Windows 7 features an improved calculator that can do unit conversion, date calculation, gas mileage, lease, and mortgage. Also you can choose between Standard, Scientific, Programmer, and Statistic calculator.

42. Open A Folder In A New Process

Windows 7 opens all folders in the same process in order to save resources, but this means if one folder crashes, they all crash. So if you feel like that’s a risk you don’t have to take, then you have to open them all in their own processes.
To do this, hold down Shift button, right-click the drive and “Open in New Process”. Now you will be safe.

43. Problem Step Recorder

The Problem Step Recorder is a great tool that can be used in many circumstances. You can turn it on by pressing the Windows Key, then typing “PSR.exe” and click Record. Now it will record all your moves and save them as a HTML document that you can view or write descriptions to it. This can help you with troubleshooting or when writing a guidance or tutorial.

44. Free Codecs Pack

Unfortunately, Windows Media Player still isn’t able to play many audio and video files, so you will still need some codecs. But with the free codecs pack you can download here you shouldn’t have any problems.

45. Start Windows Explorer From My Computer

Windows Explorer opens in the Libraries directory by default. Most of us are used to see the My Computer page instead.
To change it to My Computer, press the Windows Key, then type “explorer”, select Properties and in the Shortcut tab type “%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /root,::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}”. Now you have to right-click the Explorer icon in the Taskbar and hit “Unpin this program from the taskbar” and then drag it back from the Start Menu.

46. Clear The Desktop

If there are too many windows on the desktop, you can clear it by shaking a window from left to right and all others will minimize. To restore the other windows you have to shake the active one again.

47. Use Gadgets With UAC Turned Off

Maybe you noticed that once you turn off UAC you can’t use the gadgets anymore, as a security measure. But if you want to risk using them, there a simple way to do it, even with UAC turned off.
Press the Windows Key, type ‘regedit’, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Sidebar\Settings and create a DWORD value named AllowElevatedProcess and set its value to 1. Now you should be able to use your gadgets. If not, then reboot your PC and you should be done.

48. Fix The Media Player & Media Center MP3 Bug

If you have the final version of Windows 7, then go ahead and skip this one, since it applies only to Beta and RC versions.
Both Windows Media Player and Windows Media Center come with a bug that can damage your MP3s by filling missing metadata automatically on imported MP3 files. This can cut a few seconds from the beginning of the tracks and can prove really disturbing. This problem was fixed by Microsoft using the fix that you can download here.

49. Search Everything In Your Computer

Windows 7 offers the possibility to search all file types, including unknown ones and this could help you in some cases.
Though it is not recommended, because it’s much slower than normal search, you can give it a try by doing the following: Launch Windows Explorer, go to Tools -> Folder Options -> View and check “Try to search the content of unknown file types”. If you don’t need it anymore, don’t forget to clear it for an increase in speed.

50. Mouse Gestures

Windows 7 has not only brought gestures for those who use touchscreen devices, but for mouse users too. So, instead of right-clicking a Taskbar icon to access the jump list, you can hold left-click and drag upwards to smoothly call it up. In addition, clicking and dragging down the address bar in Internet Explorer will open the browsing history. There might be more gestures yet not discovered.

51. Configure Your Music Favorites

The Windows Media Center creates a list of favorite songs based on how often you play them, your ratings and date you’ve added them. If you aren’t comfortable with the way they thought it out, change the way it sorts your favorites by going to Tasks -> Settings -> Music -> Favorite Music.

52. Turn Off Recent Search Queries Display

Windows 7 holds and displays the recent search queries by default. This can often prove to be irritating. No need to stress though because it can be disabled.
Press the Windows Key, type “gpedit.msc”, then go to User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows Explorer and double click on “Turn off display of recent search entries”.

53. Advanced Disk Defragmentation

Fortunately, Windows 7 offers much better defragmentation than Vista and also lets you configure it a bit from the command line.
To do it, press the Windows Key and then type “CMD”.
You can defragment your hard disk from the command line by typing “defrag” and you have the following options: “/r” will defrag multiple drives simultaneously, “-a” performs a defrag analysis, “-v” prints the report, “-r” treats files with at least 64 Mb of fragments like are not fragmented, “-w” will defrag everything. An example is “defrag C: -v -w” to defrag the whole drive C.

54. How To Make Internet Explorer 8 Load Faster

If you want Internet Explorer 8 to load faster, you need to disable the add-ons that slow it down, so go to Tools -> Manage Add-ons and check the load time for each one. You can choose for yourself the ones you can live without and ones that would increase the load speed.

55. Media Center Automatic Download

Windows Media Center 12 allows you to schedule data downloads, so it can be done without disturbing you. To do it, go to Tasks -> Settings -> General -> Automatic Download Options and you can configure it to start and stop the download whenever you want.

56. Remove The Sidebar

Windows 7 doesn’t seem to feature the sidebar anymore, but it still exists and runs in the background, being launched automatically at startup. So if you want to get rid of it, there are two ways.
The easier one is to press the Windows Key, (or click Start), in the search box, type MSCONFIG.EXE, click the Startup tab and clear the Sidebar box. The hard way is to press the Windows key, type “regedit”, find and delete the registry key at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. This can save you some RAM consumed with no use.

57. Volume Tweaking

Don’t you like that Windows 7 automatically reduces the volume when it detects PC calls? You can turn off this feature by right-clicking the speaker icon in the taskbar, go to Sounds -> Communications and get rid of it.

58. Run A Program As Another User

Windows 7 comes with the possibility to run a program both as an administrator or another user, by right clicking on the executable or shortcut while holding down the Shift key. Then you have to select “Run as another user”.

59. How To Use Virtual Hard Disk Files

You can now create and manage virtual hard disks files in Windows 7 as if they were real disks. This can allow you to use a live Windows installation on the virtual disk without the need to boot the virtual Computer. To create a virtual disk you have to press the Windows Key, right-click on Computer, then go to Manage -> Disk Management -> Action -> Create VHD. There you can specify the location and size of your virtual hard disk file.
To attach the virtual disk file, press the Windows Key, right-click Computer, then go to Manage -> Disk Management -> Action -> Attach VHD and you have to specify the location and if it’s read only or not.
To initialize a virtual hard disk, press the Windows Key, right-click on Computer, go to Manage -> Disk Management -> Action -> Attach VHD, specify the location, click Ok, then right click on the virtual disk and click on Initialize Disk. Select the partition style you want to use and then right-click on the unallocated space and click “New Simple Volume” and follow the instructions wizard. Now, a new hard drive appears in Windows Explorer and you can use it as a real partition.

60. Remove The Windows Live Messenger Tab In The Taskbar

To get rid of the Windows Live Messenger Tab and put it back in the system tray, where it belongs, go to C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger, right-click msnmsdgr.exe and set its compatibility mode to Windows Vista.

61. Lock The Screen

There is no Lock Screen button in the Start Menu anymore, so you have to press the Windows Key + L to lock it, now. It seems easier, in case you don’t forget the shortkey.

62. Create A Screen Lock Shortcut

In case you don’t like shortkeys or you keep forgetting them, there’s another option for screen lock.
Simply create a new shortcut to C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe user32.dll, LockWorkStation and place it wherever you want.

63. Enable Run Command In Start Menu

If you miss the old Run Command button in XP, then there’s an option to get it back in Windows 7.
Right-click an open area in Start Menu, go to Properties -> Start Menu -> Customize and check “Run Command”. Now you should be done.

64. Improve Desktop Window Manager For Nvidia Graphics

Sometimes the animations for Desktop Window Manager don’t look very well and aren’t smooth enough and this is cause because Desktop Window Manager renders effects with no transparency and blurring, but you can turn off animations for more pleasant graphics.
Press the Windows Key, right-click on Computer, go to Properties -> Advanced System Settings -> Performance -> Settings and clear “Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing”. Click OK to finnish.

65. Change Default Save Location For Files

Windows 7 is a bit different from Vista, because it saves Documents, Pictures, Videos and Music under the Public folder inside C:\Users. You might not want to save your documents, pictures, videos or music to this location, but create your own locations and you can do it quite easy.
Press the Windows Key, click your username and double-click on the folder you wish to change. Then you will see Includes: 2 library locations. Click on that text, right-click on the folder you wish to set like default and click “Set as default file location”, then click Ok.

66. Make 64bit Windows Media Player Default (only for X64 users)

Windows comes with the 32bit version of Media Player by default. If you are a x64 user, you can keep the system cleaner by only installing one set of codecs.
To do this, press the Windows Key, type “command”, right-click on Command Prompt and hit “Run as administrator”, then type “unregmp2.exe /SwapTo:64?”. After that, press the Windows Key, type “regedit”, go to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\wmplayer.exe\, double click on value and change “%ProgramFiles(x86)” to “%ProgramFiles%”. Now you should be using the 64bit Windows Media Player.

67. Open Multiple Instances Of Windows Explorer Via The Taskbar

If you want to run more instances of the Windows Explorer just by hitting the startbar, you can do it by following these steps:
Unpin Windows Explorer from the Taskbar, then press the Windows Key, go to Accessories, right-click Windows Explorer, go to Properties and change the shortcut path to %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /root,::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D} ( if you want it to default to My Computer ) or %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /root,::{031E4825-7B94-4dc3-B131-E946B44C8DD5} ( if you want it to default to Libraries ). Now repin Windows Explorer to your Taskbar and you’re done.
All that is required for opening more instances of it is just a click of the middle mouse button. If you aren’t pleased with what you’ve done, change the shortcut path back to %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe.

68. Make The System Tray Clock Show The AM / PM Symbols

By default Windows 7 does show the time in 24 hour format, so if you want to get the AM / PM symbols, press the Windows Key, type “intl.cpl” to open Regional and Language Options, go to Additional Settings -> Time where Long Time is set to HH:mm and change it to HH:mm tt, for example, where tt is the AM or PM symbol ( 21:12 PM ). To change it to the 12 hour format, you need to type it like this hh::mm tt ( 9:12 PM ).

69. Internet Explorer 8 Compatibility Mode

If your websites don’t render correctly, you might need to enable Internet Explorer 8 display them in compatibility view. This issue is because of the updated rendering engine, which causes a lot of trouble.
